The Radnorshire Wildlife Trust wishes to appoint an independent, professional external evaluator to assess how the Wilder Pentwyn Project has performed against its forecast objectives and outputs. Overall, the successful evaluating organisation will be required to support the project in gathering evidence and produce an Evaluation Report at the end of the project. The consultant will work with a group of project representatives and staff to help capture learning and the impact of the project. The consultant will have experience of evaluation of National Lottery Heritage Fund projects alongside some conservation knowledge.

The evaluator will be required to:

  • Assess the project’s aims, objectives and outcomes and develop a methodology for the collation of quantitative and qualitative data that is achievable within the budget and timeframe available (January 2024 – September 2025).
  • Brief staff, partners, and volunteers on the delivery of evaluation using the proposed methodology.
  • Assist in the gathering of data by a range of methods as appropriate such as face to face meetings and interviews and/or running workshops/focus groups and similar with stakeholders.
  • Ensure that project staff are made aware at timely and regular intervals of the actions to be undertaken to gather data required.
  • Provide an interim and a final 2nd year evaluation report. Reports will be used to help RWT in its future management, but also to demonstrate to stakeholders/landowners the benefits of our approach.
